Writers Workshop

Thanks to the great teachers at the Cedar Falls (Iowa) Christian Writers' Workshop. Pictured are (left to right): Jocelyn Green, Jolene Philo, Shelly Beach, Jeanette Littleton and Mark Littleton. Not pictured are Jean Vaux, Sue Bragg and other members of the Cedar Falls writers group who also put a lot of time and effort into making it a great workshop.
Spending four days with writers is one of my favorite times each year. I learn not only from the teachers but also the other writers. Everyone is so willing to share ideas and encouragement. I walk away filled with enthusiasm and the desire to plop myself at the computer and never get up.
So if you are trying to call me, please remember I may not answer the phone between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. -- I'm busy WRITING! Watch out publishing world, here I come.

Grandma again!
Delgene and I are grandparents, again. Little Jack is number 10. He lives near Mankato, Minnesota with parents Troy and Kim and big sister Addy, who is 3. Due to all this crazy weather, I haven't gotten there to see him yet, but, bless her soul, his Grandma Lynn sent me pictures, and he is adorable, of course.

Quiet Days
I love quiet days. Today is one of those wonderful don’t-have-to-go-anywhere or do-anything days. There is little traffic on the streets. Probably because it’s raining and everyone is afraid it will start to freeze soon and make the roads slippery. The weather this winter has been so strange. First it snowed so much our kids and grandkids almost didn’t get home for Christmas, then it started to warm up and the thick, can’t-see-a hand-in-front-of-your-face kind of fog set in, and now it’s raining and I’m sure, just like me, most folks are figuring the temperatures will drop and make driving dangerous. As for me, I’m warm and the frig is full, what more could a woman want?
